8684. Henry COBB was born in 1605 in Reculver, Kent, England. He died @1679 in Barnstable, MA. He emigrated Easter Monday, 1629 from to Salem, Massachusetts on the Mayflower II. Henry emigrated from Southwark. Co. Surren, England to Plymouth, Massachusetts. He was in Plymouth in 1632, Scituate in 1633 and Barnstable in 1639. He was a founding member of the Scituate church 8 Jan 1635 and served as senior deacon and ruling elder for 44 years. He also served as Deputy to the Colony Court a number of years. He is buried on Lothrop's Hill, Barnstable, Mass. "A History of the Cobb Family," Philip L. Cobb (Cleveland, 1907) states: "He doubtless had been a member of Rev. John Lothrop's church in England, as we gather from what Mr Loftrop wrote in his church records." So that when Mr Lothrop came to this country, Henry Cobb was among the very first who came to his support and joined him in the planting and establishing of a new town and church." (Lothrop was a Puritan minister in London in 1623, was imprisoned, and on his release came to America, arriving 18 Sep 1634 and settling at Barnstable.) Larry Sharp on Prodigy reports Henry was born in 1596 and emigrated on the Mayflower II on Easter Monday in 1629 to Salem, Massachusetts. (Also see "Cobb Chronicles, an Overview of the Clan," John E. 8685. Sarah HINCKLEY died on 16 Feb 1686 in Barnstable, MA. She was born bef 22 Nov 1629 (baptism) in Tenterden, Kent, England. Children were:
